Vauxhall features competition winner in Corsa ad

I saw this TV campaign for Corsa this morning, the advert features the winner of a social media campaign by Vauxhall. Consumers were invited to mock up photographs of themselves in a pop art style which were then rated by fans and visitors. I love how this brand has drawn attention to itself, not by highlighting the product but by drawing attention to the brand by content created through social media.

"Flip board" the social magazine

Flipboard was launched last week, the app aggregates content posted by friends on Facebook and Twitter and transforms the links into a magazine-style format for the iPad. I plan to test drive it on Dan's iPad on Monday... watch this space!

Creative campaign for cancer awareness

A humorous and cheeky way of raising awareness of colorectal cancer amongst young people. Once on the site you're taken through a few hard facts about colorectal cancer before being prompted to take a photocopy of your bum and send it to your friends (or enemies!) .

What a creative way to raise awareness of such a serious topic.

Belgium social media brings tears to the eyes.

What a great use of online and social media by Antwerp Zoo. People were invited to follow the developments of a baby elephant right from the ultra sound to the live birth. Content via Facebook, Flickr and YouTube drove people to the main site where they could suggest a name, view daily news and countdown to the live birth.

If you wanted to watch the birth live you could request prior notification by SMS - not recommended straight after breakfast.
