Small screen goes big screen
A movie about Facebook and it's 22-year-old founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Worth a watch maybe. Check it out at the official website!

D&AD's Best New Blood was at the The Old Truman Brewery last week, if you missed it you can find the full list of Best New Blood 2010 at D&AD New Blood
Due to the growth of the digital world within advertising I was expecting to see a large amount After Effects and Cinema Pro used within the motion graphics, however I was pleasantly greeted with stop motion and illustration. Posters were bold typographic screen prints, illustration was painstakingly inventive and photography was simple and striking (see above)
Although I now have a career in advertising, my portfolio post degree was a combination of illustration and stop motion video, I have to work a lot quicker these days and mostly on the mac, the show was a nice reminder of award winning experimental creativity.

Nike Chalkbot
Combining two of my most favourite things, creativity and cycling. I know it's so last year – but I love it.

The emperor's new clothes

Multi-award winning photographer and filmmaker Raymond Depardon has his first solo exhibition in the UK - I went along to see it.
On entering the show my attention was immediately drawn to the amateurish presentation of the work - A3 prints butted together using drawing pins.
The theme 'cities in upheaval' didn't seem to permeate throughout the exhibition. I felt a little self-editing may have helped – showing only the pictures where the subject shone through.
I'm sure Raymond had a great time travelling various cities of the world, however his pictures left me cold.

Samsung YouTube Takeover... oh and game
Last month I posted a 3D projection mapping delight by Samsung And it seems the project lives on, Muse the agency behind the creation have created a YouTube takeover that evolves into a game.
For a fraction of the price of the original 3D mapping they have produced an engaging interactive experience... great stuff

Another great idea from Skoda
The clever people at Skoda have created a (seemingly) interactive experience using simple adverts across clever media space. This advert to promote their Skoda Superb Estate is simply brilliant.
